This video set is really good and bad. We all know that Richard Kaufman recorded these for reference and to privately review for the book. That being said the video quality is just ok, by no ones fault. in 1987 it took an army of lights and batteries to film, the cameras were huge and unwieldily and the internal microphones sucked. All that being said, these are pretty damn good. Sure there are shots that miss the mark and it is not polished but, it is great to see Brother John Hamman handle the cards, do his Gemini count etc. There are some great effects and tips on there and a lot of the material is in the book so, that is nice to see what the artist actually intended. It is in no way polished hype like the newer DVDs, one camera, one shot, bad lighting etc., the effects are there and there are not many videos of Brother John Hamman. Buy the book, buy the DVDs, Keep ’em, Learn from ’em.
I love the videos as bad as they are, if you wanna learn magic, it ain’t always pretty.
